Congress Seeks to Locate and Preserve Edward J. Ruppelt’s 1952 UFO Film Reel

Rep. Eric Burlison has asked MIT Lincoln Laboratory to locate a long-lost 1952 film reel of Edward J. Ruppelt’s flying-saucer talk, assess its status, and arrange its preservation with the National Archives so it cannot disappear and can provide a rare early view of how the Air Force understood UFO reports, as part of a broader 2026 effort to unlock older UAP records.
