Pat McGuire lives about thirty miles north of Laramie, Wyoming, where he grows malt barley and alfalfa hay and stresses that water is essential in the region. His father, Patrick McGuire, felt compelled to buy land and drill for water on ground believed to lack it because the property was cheap. He struck water, producing what is described as the largest artesian well in Wyoming. Pat began drilling the well in 1970, and it took seven years to complete. He then starts reporting UFOs on his land. In 1978 he meets Leo Sprinkle, and under hypnosis with Sprinkle they say to pick out the spot and that water would be brought.
