Abigail Bohl of Cornell explains that from more than 6,000 identified worlds, scientists have picked 45 rocky exoplanets in the TRAPPIST-1 Goldilocks zone that could have water and Earthlike weather, including Proxima Centauri b, but at about 4.2 light-years away we’d learn about life only through distant observations since life needs the right atmosphere, climate, and chemistry.
