DIA Analyst Describes Secret AATIP Files and a Paranormal Framework for UFOs

To the point

James Lacatski, a DIA analyst who ran the secret AATIP UFO program with Jay Stratton, says a long, secret study produced about 30,000 pages on advanced unknown-origin crafts and treats UFOs as part of a larger paranormal phenomenon, and that even if such craft or bodies exist they don’t by themselves reveal their origin or intent.

Craft of unknown origin subject of secret study, former US intelligence official confirms

An intelligence official who designed and directed the largest UFO investigation in U.S. history confirms that at least one advanced craft of unknown origin is being studied in absolute secrecy, but cautions that this is only part of a much bigger mystery. Dr. James Lacatski, a DIA analyst and nuclear engineer who oversaw the AATIP program, notes that 30,000 pages of materials were compiled during its 27-month run, funded secretly by Senator Harry Reid and colleagues and carried out by a Las Vegas contractor, Bigelow Aerospace, yet none of the files has ever been released. The program, which ran for 27 months and ended about 15 years ago, was unique in that it followed evidence wherever it led and treated the paranormal as an umbrella under which UFO phenomena resided, rather than focusing narrowly on flying saucers. Lacatski and his colleague Jay Stratton were driven in part by reports of activity over sensitive military assets and by experiences at Skinwalker Ranch, where he personally encountered phenomena and theorized that paranormal effects could be linked to UFO activity. He argues that UFOs are a subset of a broader paranormal phenomenon and warns that even if there are craft or bodies, they do not by themselves answer where they come from or what they are planning. In his new book Future Visions, co-authored with Colm Kelleher, Lacatski details dramatic incidents, Skinwalker Ranch events, and hints of another program evolving from AATIP. He says the bigger mission is to uncover whether there is genuine paranormal influence behind the sightings, a claim that keeps the larger mystery alive even as details emerge. The full interview with chief investigator George Knapp is slated for Mystery Wire, where more of these revelations will be explored.
