Japan Forms Its First SETI Organization to Seek Extraterrestrial Life

Japan has formed its first SETI organization, the Japanese Society for SETI, led by Shinya Narusawa, with about ten astronomers planning to begin radio searches in August toward the Sagittarius region from Misato Observatory in Wakayama to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Wow! Signal and to coordinate global observations.
