Japan has formed its first SETI group, led by Dr. Shinya Narusawa, to begin radio observations toward the Sagittarius constellation from Misato Observatory in 2027, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Wow! Signal, invite international scientists to focus on the signal’s source, and, in the long run, build a domestic antenna network for continuous life-detection monitoring.
