In 1998, a silent UFO flew low over a home in North Yorkshire, creating an unnatural stillness and overwhelming fear. This is a true witness account of a surreal encounter where the atmosphere itself seemed to change. Twenty-seven years ago, something many people would describe as a spacecraft flew over my home and out toward the sea. At the time I was asleep when the atmosphere suddenly changed. An unnatural silence fell over the land, so complete that it woke me instantly. Suddenly the air felt wrong it was heavy and empty—and fear came with it, that was sharp and immediate. I watched, a huge dark object slowly pass over the rooftops, so close I was certain it was going to crash. There was no sound, no lights I could clearly recognise—just the vast presence of something otherworldly moving slowly above us. Even the dog, usually alert to every noise, hid away in silence, as if it sensed the same danger. Nothing moved. Nothing felt normal. Then the UFO suddenly shot out towards the sea and the silence broke. The atmosphere instantly returned, and the fear subsided.
