At the hearing, Pentagon officials Bray and Moultrie showed declassified video of a 2021 metallic sphere spotted by a Navy jet and said there’s no evidence it’s alien or wreckage, pilots didn’t try to contact it, and while extraterrestrial life can’t be ruled out the data don’t prove it, noting that more than 400 UAP sightings have been reported since 2004, including several unexplained near-misses near sensitive sites, that some footage could be drone artifacts, and pointing to international interest and a push to destigmatize reporting as part of a long arc from Project Blue Book to recent whistleblower disclosures and AATIP materials outside the official briefings.
