Broadening the Technosignature Search: Narrow-Band ALMA Signals and Galactic Contexts

Led by Louisa Mason, SETI researchers reexamine archival ALMA and Gaia data to hunt for extremely narrow-frequency signals outside the usual search window, using high-frequency, wide-field observations that capture signals from many stars and mapping onto the Besançon Galaxy model to locate where such technosignatures might originate across the Milky Way and look for accidental leaks or relic signals from extinct civilizations.
