Life-Search Roadmap: 45 Rocky Exoplanets in Habitable Zones for Atmospheric Biosignature Exploration
To the point
Researchers screened about 6,000 worlds and identified 45 rocky exoplanets in their stars’ habitable zones, prioritizing targets such as Proxima Centauri b, TRAPPIST-1f, LHS 1140, and TOI-715 b because they may receive Earth-like energy and can retain atmospheres to sustain liquid water, guiding future telescope studies of atmospheres and biosignatures from roughly 4.2 to 40–48 light-years away.
