Canada's 2025 UFO Survey: 1,052 Reports, 3% Unexplained, and a Push Toward a UAP Framework

Canada recorded 1,052 UFO reports in 2025, most of which were explainable (often stars, planes or satellites) with about 3% unresolved, sightings focused on lights and concentrated in Ontario, there were a few notable unexplained cases, Transport Canada contributed 18 official but preliminary reports, and there is a growing push to use UAP instead of UFO and to create a federal body to standardize, collect and study such reports while encouraging more public documentation to improve the data pool.
