SUAPS Announces UAP Studies Seminar Series: Foundations of a New Field

The Society for UAP Studies (SUAPS) announces UAP Studies Seminar Series: Foundations of a New Field, a year-long, livestreamed public education program designed to establish an academically rigorous field around Unidentified Aerospace (or Anomalous) Phenomena. Led by SUAPS’s Director of Education, Douglas Giles, PhD, the series brings expert researchers and scholars to examine data analysis, methodology, and the epistemic and public understanding surrounding UAPs. Inaugural sessions and speakers: - February 19, 2026 — Steve Fuller (University of Warwick): Why UAPs are intrinsically productive for thought regardless of ontological status. - March 5, 2026 — Rich Hoffman (Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies): Toward a coordinated/global instrumented study of UAP. - March 19, 2026 — Massimo Teodorani (SUAPS / Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies): Instrumented physical investigation to distinguish engineered craft from plasma phenomena. - April 30, 2026 — Kimberly S. Engels (Molloy University): Resisting narrative flattening; epistemic justice for experiencer testimony. Access and membership: - February–March seminars are free and open to the public. - Beginning April 1, access switches to SUAPS member only. - Membership plans start at $6 per month or $60 per year. Purpose and scope: - The initiative aims to educate the public, build trust, and position SUAPS as a central, expert-led platform for integrative discourse on UAP research, drawing from multiple disciplines while maintaining rigorous standards and openness to deeply anomalous implications. About SUAPS: - A nonprofit professional society whose broader aim is to redefine and legitimize UAP study as an academic field, balancing critical scrutiny with openness to new possibilities.
