L 98-59 d: A nearby warm, rocky world in a six-planet M-dwarf system and a benchmark for atmospheric studies
To the point
Nearby L 98-59 d is a rocky planet of about 1.9 Earth masses and 1.5–1.6 Earth radii that orbits its M3V star every 7.4507 days at 0.0486 AU with a small eccentricity and a nearly edge-on transit, is one of six planets about 10.6 pc away and transits as TOI-175 d, and has an equilibrium temperature around 416 K, while the host star is a metal-poor, 3415 K M dwarf with 0.32 M⊙ and 0.291 R⊙, making the system a benchmark for atmospheric studies of small planets with JWST-era hints of a secondary atmosphere and sulfur-bearing species, despite a modest radial-velocity signal of about 1.5 m/s.
